Meet my new teammate, Nick Scandone of Newport Beach California. Nick is presently the number one US 2.4 meter class sailor, the 2005 World Champion and had qualified our country in the single handed class - is now switching to the SKUD 18 due to the progression of his illness, Lou Gehrig’s where his hand strength will be less of a factor as his crew, (that’s me) will handle most all the lines.

Long before Nick began in sailing the Paralympic Classes, he was a Collegiate All-American, 4 time national champion and was the 470 North American Champion while campaigning for the 1992 Olympics. Since his diagnosis he has won a World Championship and two more National Championships.
