Our first regatta as a new team was a larger success than I personally could have imagined - and one that I’ve never experienced before. The butterflies in my stomach were pretty bad as racing began. This was the first regatta with my new skipper - within minutes, we extended on the first leg. We won that first race, then the next, and the next, and the next…

Nick and I went on to post a perfect score for the regatta, winning every single race scored. Sailors call it a Picket Fence, as your line on the score sheet resembles a picket fence, with a straight line of 1’s. As you might imagine, we won the regatta!
