Moving Forward, Giving Back

The summer of 2009, Paralympic Sailing gold medalist Maureen McKinnon-Tucker will be conducting a series of training clinics for new disabled sailors. In partnership with Team Paradise, Maureen, her husband and coach Dan Tucker and a team of experienced volunteers will conduct three clinics in Paralympic SKUD-18 class sailboats. We will create 24 new sailors during these 3 events!

The goals of the Moving Forward, Giving Back clinics are to:

• demonstrate the freedom and empowerment of sailing to people with disabilities
• teach them to sail, intorduce them to basic competitive sailing skills
• expand the ranks of potential Paralympic level sailors
• promote the SKUD-18 class

Clinics are planned at Sail Salem, the community boating center in Salem, MA's Winter Island July 17, 18 19 and August 14,15, 16 and Pier's Park Sailing Center in East Boston August 28, 29, 30.
